How long does a drawing take?
It depends on the complexity of the drawing, the ball speed you select and whether erasing before drawing is enabled. Count on about half an hour for the simplest ones and up to 6 hours for the most intricate.
How do you erase a drawing?
Nothing could be simpler: the ball does it. 1. The erase button — the ball traces a spiral from the outside in, leaving a neutral background for the next drawing. 2. The erase option — enabled in the drawing settings (eraser shown in green), it erases automatically before each drawing.
How do I connect to the device?
Download the free SUNAE app on your Apple or Android smartphone. Control and wireless transfer use Bluetooth.
Can the device connect to Wi-Fi?
Yes, to a local 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, although control always goes through Bluetooth. Wi-Fi lets you set operating schedules, download drawings faster and speed up updates.
How many drawings are available?
Nearly 200 drawings come installed. New drawings are regularly made available for free through the app’s download centre.
Can I create my own drawings?
Yes, as simple mathematical drawings. Many thanks to Jeff, who created Sandify, a free online tool: make your drawing, export it as a “.thr” file, then import it into the app via the download centre. For your logo or a more complex drawing, write to info@sunae.ch.
Can I change the sand myself?
Yes, and it’s quick. Three colours are available: white, ochre and volcano. For Origin, follow the video on our YouTube channel; for Orbit, a quick pass with a vacuum cleaner does the job.
Do the devices plug into the mains?
Yes. A battery would be possible, but it would need recharging every day. As the object stays in place, we focused on making the small power cable under the table as discreet as possible.
Does it use much electricity?
No. While drawing, consumption is close to 5 watts — about the same as a computer on standby. With LED lighting at 100%, add 20 W for Origin and 10 W for Orbit — lighting that then replaces a lamp in the room.
Orders & delivery
What are the lead times?
Main products (Orbit, Origin, Dimension) are handmade: allow about 12 weeks. Spare parts in stock ship by post within 5 to 8 working days.
How does delivery work?
Main products are delivered to your home anywhere in Switzerland for a flat rate of CHF 300, by appointment. Outside Switzerland, shipping terms are stated on the invoice.
What is the warranty?
In Switzerland, 2 years or 2,000 hours of use; outside Switzerland, 1 year or 2,000 hours — provided the instructions for use are followed. Scratches (glass, ring…) are excluded.
How can I pay?
By bank transfer or credit card (transaction fees may apply). Terms are specified in the order form.
